Nyungne Retreat with Anyen Rinpoche
April 17 - April 21, 2014
|
Anyen Rinpoche will be returning to Canada to lead the third annual Nyungne retreat at Lake Heney, an hour’s drive from Ottawa.
Nyungne is a traditional Tibetan householder retreat that includes vows for fasting and silence. The retreat involves periods of group meditation interspersed with periods for individual practice, guided yoga classes, study and reflection. Rinpoche gives practice instructions each morning, including breath work and meditation. Nyungne helps us cultivate bodhicitta and compassionate wisdom through the traditional meditation practice of Avalokitesvara, who is regarded in Tibet as the essence of compassion. This retreat will support and deepen your own meditation practice no matter what your level of experience. Even though fasting and silence are a part of this retreat, each day we come together for a large midday feast when the vow of silence is lifted and we are able to talk and share our experiences with our fellow practitioners and Rinpoche. $350 for 4 nights shared accommodation. A portion of the registration fee is eligible for a tax receipt. To reserve a spot please register using the PayPal button to your left. To confirm your spot, full payment is required. Should you need to cancel there will be a non-refundable administration fee of $50. Space is limited to 30 people so book now to reserve your spot. If you have any questions about the practice, the retreat itself, or have trouble registering, please contact Nadine at [email protected]. This retreat is being offered by Orgyen Khamdroling Canada, a registered Canadian Charity dedicated to raising money for tuition and education for underprivileged Tibetan children in Amdo Tibet. Our long term goal is to build a school in this remote area of Tibet. We also support Rinpoche's teaching and Dharma activities in Canada. |
